The font on this stone is peculiar to the works of the “Horton Carver” who created headstones in our community over 200 years ago. I am the first person to hand carve this font since then and is wonderful to think I can be rooted in this heritage. His sandstone and slate headstones can be found in pioneer cemeteries across Nova Scotia.
